everything. I know the basics of hummus but it doesnt have that punch that restaurant hummus has. maybe cuz I never buy tahini cuz its super expensive.

No tahini, no hummus my friend. Otherwise all you have is bean dip! You don't need that much for a couple of good batches. I'm not sure where you are, but to get it at a decent price, find your local mid-east market, it is much, much cheaper there....Or you can order it from Amazon. I haven't had this brand , but it looks okay.

Next extra virgin olive oil. Not a blend!

Get dried chick peas and prepare them. Miles better than any canned bean you'll find.

Fresh garlic and lemons.

Roasted red peppers too. (that's how I prefer mine, anyway.)

Yeah my hummus is game is wack son! I didn't take it serious like I should. Using canned beans and no tahini like a buster.

It's also better when you de-skin the chick peas. It's way smoother. There's a couple of videos on the best ways to get the skins off.

You wouldn't have a link to one of those videos would you? I only know how to do it by hand which takes a long, long time, so I go for a longer blend to break them down a little more....You do know you should blend the tahini for about 5 minutes before adding the peas, right? Makes it fluffier!
